Susan Verstraete attended church her whole life and thought of herself as a good person until God showed her that she could never, in her own strength, be the kind of mother she wanted to be for her newborn son. He caused her to see a life full of selfishness, compromise and pride and brought her very low to show her how much she needed Him. Since that day in 1984, Susan has bumbled through the Christian life, trusting God who has faithfully lead her through His kind providence, His Word and His people.
Susan Verstraete and her husband Michael have two adult sons, Patrick (a student at UMKC School of Law) and Christopher (a student at Missouri Western). Susan teaches a children’s Sunday school class and leads the women’s book discussion group at Faith Community Church in Kansas City, North. She is the administrative assistant for Christian Communicators Worldwide and the church secretary for Christ Fellowship of Kansas City. Susan contributes an article each month to the CCW website www.BulletinInserts.org and writes a book review column for the FCC newsletter.
